MGS: Ground Zeroes to have a base, smartphone support

Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes will feature base building elements and smartphone support, Hideo Kojima revealed.

Snake will have a home base in the game, which will be accessible using a helicopter.

Players can then develop and expand the base and use it to acquire tools for the battlefield.

Kojima told an audience at the Eurogamer Expo: "The concept of developing weapons at your base is a very cool idea, and something that could be popular. It's something we've been thinking of."

Kojima also revealed that smartphones can be used to access the game world.

"Furthermore, nowadays there are various ways to access the game world - you're not just playing in your living room on your games console.

"You may also access through your cell phone and other devices and still access that same game. I think in that respect that motherbase system lends itself very well to that system, and that's something we're planning on for Ground Zeroes."
