GAME sends store closure letters to customers
Language »
Previously reported troubled videogame outlet GAME has sent out letters to its customers today notifying them of key store closures across the country.
The retailer will close 35 shops effective immediately (well, from the 24 March) with a view to shut a total of 60 stores by Christmas 2013 and comes after major publishers pulled their support last week.
However, the retailer confirms it will honour any outstanding pre-oreders through sister company Gamestation. In addition to this, customers will still be able to use their GAME REWARD card and shop online at game.co.uk. It's unlikely Gamestation will accept the GAME REWARD card, the letter states the retailer has its own reward scheme and to ask for details in-store.
Customers whom this will effect will be notified by post.
Although it's expected the retailer will go into administration, there has been outside interest in the retailer and there may be a potential buyout on the cards.
Well obviously keep you posted with any more on this as it happens.
