Borderlands 3 not in development
Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford has revealed a Borderlands 3 is not currently in development.
A rumour started up over the weekend suggesting a third game in the series was already being worked on.
Pitchford took to Twitter to address the situation, claiming that Borderlands 2 downloadable content is the main focus right now.
He said: "Chill out internet. No one has started working on a sequel to Borderlands 2. It's fun to talk and think, but actual effort is focused on Borderlands 2 DLC, Aliens, etc.
"Clean and simple truth: The only Borderlands related game development work going on right now is for Borderlands 2."
There are plans to release four add-on packs for Borderlands 2, with a DLC Season Pass being available for players to get them at a discounted price.
