Closed beta date for The War Z announced

Arktos Entertainment has announced The War Z closed beta will begin 31 October.

To get access to the closed beta players can purchase the Survivor package from The War Z website, priced at $19.49 USD until 20 October ($29.99 after).

Those that feel even more eager to get their hands on the game can sign up for the Pioneer package. Priced at $29.99 USD up to 20 October ($49.99 USD after), this package allows people to play as early as 15 October.

The Pioneer package also comes with a few bonuses, including $15 USD of in-game currency, a special forum badge identifying the player as an early pioneer community member and one month of 'Stronghold' map server hosting to create a unique world within the game.

Executive producer, Sergey Titov, said: "We've been working non-stop to tweak and balance the game to where we feel comfortable beginning to bring more players in.

"We are now at that point, but this is where the real work begins. We want to work with our players to build and add additional features, remove those that they don't like and continue to evolve The War Z to be the best zombie survival-sim available."
