Xbox Live sticking with Microsoft Points
Microsoft has confirmed Xbox Live will continue to use Microsoft Points as its default currency.
Rumours started circulating this week that Microsoft would switch Xbox Live transactions to real-world currency due to the upcoming release of its Windows 8 operating system.
Microsoft has since released a statement clarifying that Microsoft Points are here to stay.
"Microsoft Points continue to be the currency for purchasing content for the Xbox 360 console," a spokesperson told The Verge.
The statement also confirmed that Xbox Live users would be able to use stored Microsoft Points to buy content on Windows 8.
