PS Vita sales slump behind 3DS in Europe

The Nintendo 3DS regularly outsells the PlayStation Vita in Europe.

Sony's handheld launched earlier this year and has since been met with disappointing sales figures.

Now data released by Nintendo in a financial report reveals that the 3DS is regularly being bought twice as much as the Vita.

The report also shows that the Vita is shifting less units than its predecessor, the PSP, across Europe and Japan.

The figures are Nintendo's own estimates based on information provided by market research companies in Europe.

Sony is hoping Vita sales will pick up in the next few months as popular titles such as Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed make their way to the handheld.
