Starbreeze's next game will be free-to-play
Starbreeze will be releasing a free-to-play called Cold Mercury.
There's not much more news on Cold Mercury, but studio boss Mikael Nermark said the company would "not leave the AAA segment," but "are discussing with several leading game publisher[s] on publisher financed games, but we will broaden our product portfolio of games in the new business models and segments that have arisen in the games industry.
"I am convinced that Starbreeze will be successful with the new games."
Accoridng to a report in GamesIndustry International the studio is also seeking a distribution deal for its other project, P13 which it's developing with Swedish filmmaker Josef Fares.
The P13 project was developed and pitched by Fares and Swedish Media company The Story Lab is also on board.
Pitched and developed by Fares, he talks about how Starbreeze was happy to run with the concept.
"Together with The Story Lab we created two prototypes that we pitched to the game developer Starbreeze. They liked the idea, and here we are now."
Nermark said that the studio saw the potential, "we understood that it's a very elaborate concept and that it can be a really great."
Starbreeze have been responsible for The Darkness, Riddick and Syndicate.
