Wii U doesn't have achievement system
Nintendo's upcoming Wii U console doesn't include an achievement system, according to the developer of Scribblenauts Unlimited.
It appears that Wii U games will have to implement their own achievement structure to reward players instead of using a universal system like Xbox Achievements or PlayStation Trophies.
5th Cell co-founder and developer for Scribblenaughts Unlimited on Wii U, Jeremiah Slaczka, revealed the news on NeoGAF.
"There are no Wii U accomplishments that are system wide," he wrote. "Scribblenaughts Unlimited loosely has them in the form of 'Global shards' a giant check list of global things to spawn and do in the game that aren't area specific."
Players who accomplish specific tasks in games will be able to publish their progress via the Miiverse.
