PS Vita firmware update improves web browser

Sony has revealed that the PlayStation Vita firmware update 2.0 speeds up the handheld's web browser.

The update, due out this week, is set to bring PlayStation Plus to the Vita for the first time.

Now Sony's Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that the update will also bring a faster web browser.

"One welcome change in tomorrow's PS Vita FW 2.0 will be the web browser becomes a 'small app', you won't have to quit games to use it," Yoshida wrote on Twitter.

"That's little talked about but is a big change, and the browsing itself is faster than the current one."

The firmware update is launching 21 November for Europe.
