Far Cry 3 not getting dedicated online server

Ubisoft has confirmed there will be no dedicated online server for Far Cry 3.

The publisher's community manager revealed the news on the Ubisoft message board.

"The online experience does not support dedicated servers," he wrote under the handle of MSV-Vextor.

Ubisoft was then accused of wanting to kill the PC community, forcing MSV-Vextor to elaborate on why there isn't a dedicated server for online play.

"Of course we are not trying to kill the PC community. We have simply decided on a different way of handling multiplayer.

"We weighed the different options against each other to see what worked best, and what we came up with worked very well even without DS's."
