The Walking Dead wins VGA for Game of the Year

The Walking Dead was announced as Game of the Year at the Video Game Awards over the weekend.

Samuel L Jackson presented the show in its 10-year anniversary, as a host of games received awards for their success over the last 12 months.

The Walking Dead also picked up awards for Best Adapted Video Game and Best Downloadable Game, while developer Telltale Games was given Studio of the Year.

The award for Best Performance by a Human Female was given to Melissa Hutchison, who voiced The Walking Dead's Clementine.

Borderlands 2 was the other big winner from the night, picking up the Best Shooter and Best Multiplayer titles, with Handsome Jack actor Dameon Clarke being given the Best Performance By a Human Male award.

Other highlights include Halo 4 picking up the gong for Best Graphics, Need for Speed: Most Wanted being named the Best Driving Game and Mass Effect 3 awarded the Best RPG.

No doubt was left as to what gamers are most looking forward to next year as Grand Theft Auto 5 was named as Most Anticipated Game for 2013.
