Nintendo Land's lack of online multiplayer explained
Nintendo has claimed the reason online multiplayer isn't included in Nintendo Land is because it was intended for people to play in the same room.
Nintendo Land was a Wii U launch title last month, featuring a number of party games for players to take part in.
Many have questioned the reasoning behind the lack of online multiplayer, but Nintendo Land producer, Katsuya Eguchi, said the answer is simple.
"Nintendo Land's multiplayer attractions work because of the communication shared between the people playing them," he told Famitsu [via Polygon].
"They were set up from the start to be something people in the same room could enjoy."
Co-director, Takayuki Shimamura, said the GamePad adds another dimension to the way people play multiplayer games.
"With the GamePad, I think you're seeing a new dimension of multiplayer, something that hasn't been seen before."
