Mass Effect 4 not coming for at least two years

BioWare has revealed that the next game in the Mass Effect series won't be released for at least another two years.

Mass Effect executive producer, Casey Hudson, confirmed Mass Effect 4 last month when he asked fans what they wanted to see in a new game.

Now it's been confirmed that Mass Effect 4 won't see the light of day until late 2014 at the earliest.

"Late 2014 to mid 2015," a BioWare employee told GamerSyndrome. "I honestly can't tell you an exact date because full development on the game started a month ago."

It's still not clear whether Mass Effect 4 will take place after the trilogy or as a prequel, with Hudson again asking fans for their opinions.

In the mean time a lot of effort is being put into Mass Effect 3 downloadable content, including an eight-person writing team.

And those who want to experience the events of Mass Effect for the first time can pick up the recently released Mass Effect Trilogy, which includes DLC and apparently performs best on the PlayStation 3.
