Borderlands 2 is most played new game of 2012
Borderlands 2 has been named the Most Played New Game of the Year by online games community Raptr.
The results were calculated from Raptr's gameplay tracking feature and a 15 million strong user base.
They also showed that gamers spent an average time of 49 hours roaming the world of Pandora for new loot to use against those badass enemies.
Dragon's Dogma was named the most played new intellectual property of 2012, with an average playtime of 40 hours being recorded for the first month alone.
There was also a sustained interest in last year's Portal 2 throughout 2012 due to user-generated content.
"We're seeing more time invested in games that constantly introduce new content and other community engagement activities, from console titles like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Portal 2 to MOBAs like League of Legends," claimed Raptr CEO Dennis Fong.
