UEFA EURO 12 will be downloadable expansion

EA has announced UEFA EURO 2012 will be a downloadable expansion for FIFA 12, released last year.

This will be the first time EA offer a championship or a competition as downloadable content.

FIFA 12 was the first iteration to have Arabic language support. Could this be the beginning of many more localised languages which could tap into local competitions?

It's unlikely that the World Cup versions would undergo the same treatment, but this would be a great way for EA to take advantage of localised cups, such as the Asian or African cups and any other regional-specific games. It wouldn't surprise us to see this becoming more of a feature, especially as you can take your team and players online to compete on a global level.

UEFA EURO 12 will allow Tournament modes as well as Expedition modes. Club Challenges will also allow you to take on real-world challenges and scenarios, and this could be the mode which goes global and allows players to compete in a range of downloadable content, such as UEFA.
