Star Trek given release date

Namco Bandai has announced a release date for Star Trek: The Video Game of 26 April 2013.

The sci-fi shooter will focus on the famous Captain Kirk and Spock in a story set between the 2009 hit film Star Trek and its sequel, which is due to be released next year.

It is currently in development at The Darkness 2 studio Digital Extremes, with the story being penned by BAFTA-winning Marianne Krawczyk.

Namco Bandai also announced the Elite Officer Pack as a pre-order bonus for Star Trek, featuring extra weapons and uniforms for Kirk and Spock.

Star Trek will drop on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
