Ubisoft reportedly interested in THQ acquisition
Ubisoft is reportedly interested in the acquisition of troubled publisher THQ.
Sources close to the situation have told MCV that Ubisoft is pondering a bid for THQ's assets and studios.
Price seems to be the biggest obstacle to negotiations, with Ubisoft prepared to wait until the company is available in a bargain deal.
Any deal would see Ubisoft take over five of THQ's studios and pick up well-known brands such as Saints Row, WWE, Darksiders and Company of Heroes.
Ubisoft has enjoyed a very successful 2012, with Assassin's Creed 3, Far Cry 3 and Just Dance 4 recording high sales figures.
By contrast THQ has been struggling, with grim financial results and Darksiders 2 not selling as well as hoped, which all culminated with the company filing for bankruptcy earlier this week.
