Pokemon X and Y announced
Nintendo has announced Pokemon X and Y for the 3DS.
Company president Satoru Iwata revealed the news on a Nintendo Direct broadcast, confirming an October 2013 launch.
The first gameplay footage featured a 3D cell-shaded world, while the game's viewpoint is now a dynamic camera instead of the traditional top-down view.
The games will include new and old Pokemon, with Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie being the three starting monsters.
Iwata called Pokemon X and Y the 'next evolution of the Pokemon world'.
