Platinum Games interested in Darksiders franchise

Platinum Games could be preparing to make a bid for ex-THQ property Darksiders.

Vigil Entertainment and the Darksiders franchise were one of the few THQ assets not sold off in yesterday's 22-hour auction.

Now it looks like Platinum Games, the studio behind the critically acclaimed Bayonetta and Vanquish titles, could be about to save Darksiders from the scrapheap.

"Oh man in THQ's big sale it looks like nobody's bought Darksiders," said Platinum Games director Atsushi Inaba on Twitter.

"I'd love to buy that (if it was cheap)."

Employees at Vigil Entertainment are currently out of work while the studio is seeking a buyer.
