Unannounced THQ Montreal games could be scrapped
Ubisoft will be carrying out a 'thorough analysis' of THQ Montreal's projects after the publisher acquired the studio last week.
THQ Montreal was working on '1666' and 'Underdog' prior to being snapped up by Ubisoft in the THQ auction.
There is now no guarantee whether these games will ever see the light of day.
"It is very early to talk about and the projects that you're mentioning are unannounced projects," Ubisoft Canada's Yannis Mallat told the Financial Post.
"It doesn't make any difference if it's part of the acquisition or not, as it's the exact same thing with our own unannounced projects: we don't talk about that.
"But of course what I can tell you right now is that we're entering a phase where we're going into a more thorough analysis of everything here and in the coming weeks we'll make up a plan for continuing operations with this new studio."
Ubisoft also acquired the rights to South Park: The Stick of Truth in last week's auction.
