GTA 5 won't be affected by next-gen
Sales of Grand Theft Auto 5 won't be affected by the imminent release of next-generation consoles, according to Take-Two's Strauss Zelnick.
Last week GTA 5 was given a 17 September release date for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Some have claimed that sales might be lower-than-expected due to players holding out for next-gen hardware, but Zelnick quickly shot down the argument.
"There is not one gamer who's going to sit it out of Grand Theft Auto 5 hoping that something down the road is going to come along that's better," he told investors.
"Grand Theft Auto 5 is going to blow everyone away, and it will be in the market in September."
Zelnick also revealed that Take-Two has 'an extraordinary array of offerings for next-gen when the time comes'.
GTA 5 is also expected to come to the PC at some point although no release date has been confirmed.
