The Vanishing of Ethan Carter announced

The Astronauts has announced new detective-horror title The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.

The game puts you in the role of a detective with a supernatural ability to visualise scenes of lethal crimes.

Your task is to uncover the mystery behind the kidnapping of a young boy, while the investigation will lead you to a mountainous area shrouded in secrets.

The Astronauts is a team comprised of ex-People Can Fly developers, who worked on titles such as Bulletstorm and Painkiller.

"What we care about the most is that players feel like they're really there," said game designer Adrian Chmielarz. "Immersion is our number one priority.

"It's a game about exploration and discovery. We're not abandoning the gameplay - on the contrary: we're trying to strip it down to the bone and make sure it's always meaningful and truly makes the experience better."
