Crysis 3 mixes single-player and multiplayer 'better'
Upcoming shooter Crysis 3 offers a better mix of single-player and multiplayer compared to Crysis 2, according to Crytek producer Mike Read.
Read believes that Crytek has learnt a lot from the first two games in the trilogy, which helped deliver an overall better package in Crysis 3.
In particular he thinks there's a good balance between the two modes which players will come to appreciate.
"Actually I think it's a better mix than it was," Read told ArabicGamers when asked whether Crysis 3 focuses more on story.
"I mean we had Crysis 1, we had single player in that. We also had Crysis Wars. Crysis 2 was kind of a turnaround, in that we approached multiplayer in a different way, we were new to it. Plus we had a studio that was relatively new, which was the former Free Radical guys at Crytek UK working on that.
"And then now coming into Crysis 3 we have a really good balance of both. It feels a lot better."
Read added that different resources were used when working on both modes so that there wasn't a lot of 'blockage'.
"We have some people who have expressed that they're only really interested in the single player and some who really want the multiplayer, and some who play through both.
"But we have two completely different teams working on the modes so there wasn't a lot of blockage. So it's two very good, different experiences."
Crysis 3 launches 22 February. In the mean time you can read up on our preview here.
