Demon's Souls servers to close in May
Publisher Atlus has said it will be closing the Demon's Souls servers at the end of May.
The report, from Game Informer, states there will be two World Tendency events based on fan votes in May. The first will be from 1-15 May, while the other will start 16 and end on 31 May.
"Thank you to the unparalleled passion and support of the Demon's Souls community throughout these last two and a half years," Atlus marketing VP Tim Pivnicny said in a statement. "The online adventure may end soon, but the memory of it—just like that of every boss strategy, every level floor plan, and hidden secret—lives on in the gamers for whom the game was so special."
The single player campaign will, of course, be unaffected.
Dark Souls, the sequel, has done exceptionally well and there will still be server support for the game as far as we know. So if you're a fan of the original, we highly recommend picking up Dark Souls and continuing with your adventures.
