Assassin's Creed image mistaken for real Damascus skyline

A Danish news channel accidently used an image from Assassin's Creed during a report about Syria.
The Washington Post reports that an image of the Damascus skyline was taken from the game and used as the background for the broadcast, which aired on TV2 on 26 February.
An employee at the channel was said to have found the image online and assumed they were looking at the real Damascus.
Head of news for the channel, Jacob Nybroe, called the error a terrible mistake and "a reminder to us all of the importance of verifying the sources of pictures."
