Cyberpunk 2077 will feature multiplayer

CD Projekt RED has confirmed that futuristic role-playing title Cyberpunk 2077 will feature multiplayer.

The studio's previous games include the Witcher series, which have yet to include multiplayer in any form.

However Cyberpunk 2077 will contain a multiplayer component to go with the single player experience.

"It will be a story-based RPG experience with amazing single player playthroughs," managing director Adam Badowski told Eurogamer, "but we're going to add multiplayer features."

Badowski added that Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world game with 'cool' environments.

"The first and most important environment for Cyberpunk is the city, obviously.

"But not only the city: you can expect some more environments in the Cyberpunk game. We want to start in the Night City, which is cool. And yes it will be an open world game as well."

No release date has been confirmed, but we can expect to see it on PC and next-gen consoles when it eventually comes out.
