Next Xbox sign-up sites confirmed as fake

Microsoft has confirmed that any sites offering the chance to test the next Xbox are a scam.

Several scam sites have appeared online recently with promises of letting players test out the next Xbox in return for some personal information.

Microsoft's Major Nelson took to Twitter to confirm that none of the sites are real.

"Confirmed: All sign-up pages for testing the "next Xbox" are FAKE," he said. "Do not give them your information - it's a scam.

"I am sure most of you already knew that, but I wanted to give you an official source to share with your friends."

The next Xbox hasn't even been announced yet; Microsoft is expected to reveal its new hardware at an event next month.
