SimCity gets traffic congestion update

Maxis has released a traffic congestion update for SimCity.

Update 1.7 tweaks the traffic congestion so that emergency vehicles such as fire trucks and ambulances drive in empty lanes to get to their destination quicker.

Emergency and delivery vehicles also now have priority over regular traffic when leaving a garage.

The bulldoze tool can now demolish all units and buildings, performance improvements have been made and a new Asia 2 server has been added.

The SimCity launch was plagued by a number of issues due to having to be always-online when playing.

However despite the issues the city-builder simulation has managed to shift 1.1 million copies.
