XCOM: Enemy Unknown heading to iOS

2K Games has announced that XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be heading to iOS this summer.

The much-loved PC and console strategy game will be available to play on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch devices.

XCOM lead developer Jake Solomon said the iOS version will a full port of the console and PC game apart from the maps.

"The idea was to port the game fully," he told Polygon.

"The one exception we made was to the number of maps in the game, but we still have all the destructible environments, there's the fog of war - this is a full AAA game we're porting. It really is XCOM."

The iOS version will also feature a reworked user interface to make use of the touchscreen controls.
