Quantic Dream staying a Sony developer

Quantic Dream has confirmed that it will remain a Sony studio for the near future.

The developer behind Heavy Rain and the upcoming Beyond: Two Souls has an exclusive partnership with Sony so that its games only launch on the PlayStation.

The studio's co-CEO, Guillaume de Fondaumiére, said that everyone at Quantic Dream is happy with the deal and they aren't looking to change anytime soon.

"This isn't a partnership where we are forced by a big company into giving immediate results," he told OPM.

"That's fantastic for a studio like us. Ever since we started our partnership, Sony just said it was going to give us the money to build these games and we said we were going to work as hard as we could and reward it for its trust.

"We're certainly not going to change partner for the sake of making more money; that's not the philosophy behind our studio. As long as we can create the games we want to create, we'll stay with Sony."

Beyond: Two Souls is due out for the PlayStation 3 in October.
