Angry Birds and others price drop on Windows Phone Marketplace
Microsoft has cut the prices of seven Windows Phone Marketplace games to 79p or 99c, with Angry Birds being one of the titles.
The news suggests Microsoft is working towards the App Store model which has the lowest price point of 69p or 99c. By competing with the App store, and with a wider variety of phones on offer, Microsoft will most likely start aggressively trying to take a share of the iPhone app market.
With the launch of the Lumia 900 and an already established XBox LIVE user base globally, it wouldn't surprise us to see more titles coming down in price. But these price cuts are permanent and are half their original price.
The games which have been permanently reduced are Angry Birds, Burn the Rope, De Blob, Doodle God, IonBallEx, Max & the Magic Marker and Toy Soldiers: Boot Camp.
