Former EA exec: Consoles can't compete with mobile
Traditional home consoles will face increasing pressure from mobile devices in the future, according to former EA executive Ben Cousins.
Recently there has been an uptake in the amount of consumers using handheld devices such as mobiles and tablets to play games.
Cousins believes this trend will continue and the big console companies, such as Sony and Microsoft, will have to adapt to survive.
"It's anarchy out there, and these big companies are finding it difficult to steer their supertankers," Cousins told Bloomberg.
"With consoles, you're only in front of the TV for a couple of hours in the evening," he added.
"The main platform for games will be where it's most convenient, and that's fast becoming everywhere, on mobile."
