DayZ "almost certain" to hit consoles one day

A console version of zombie survival game DayZ is very likely one day, according to creator Dean Hall.

DayZ was a breakout hit last year as a modification for military shooter ARMA 2.

Now a standalone DayZ game is being developed for PC, with Hall saying a console port is "almost certain" as long as things go well.

"I know a lot of people get really hot and bothered about it," he told The Escapist. "Like, I'm not a console gamer, I'm a PC gamer, but I don't think it necessarily has to hurt things."

Hall said that he's even had talks with Sony about DayZ appearing on the PlayStation 4.

"It appears to be the kind of game that Sony are interested in," he added.

"We've talked and met with Sony, and they're very - you know, they're obviously interested."
