Ubisoft Montreal CEO calls PS4 a "pleasant surprise"
Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat has labeled the PlayStation 4 a "pleasant surprise" when it comes to developing games for the console.
He believes the new hardware makes it much easier to develop high quality games as it is more similar to a typical PC.
"From what we can talk about, which is the PlayStation 4, it's been a radical change from those guys," Mallat told CVG.
"PlayStation 4 really comes as a pleasant surprise because indeed it's a very familiar architecture [as PC]."
"I think it's paying off for us deciding to develop on high-end PCs early. It's a less complex transition."
Ubisoft are working on a few titles for the PS4, including Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag.
