District 9 director wants to do Halo film

District 9 director Neill Blomkamp is still interested in making a movie based on the Halo franchise.

Blomkamp was set to direct a Halo film years ago, before budget and studio problems got in the way.

But that hasn't put him off the idea of trying it all over again one day.

"I still really love the world and the universe and the mythology of Halo," he told IGN.

"If I was given control, I would really like to do that film."

Blomkamp said working on a movie for a famous game franchise means that everyone has an idea of how it should be done.

"But that's the problem," he added. "When something pre-exists, there's this idea of my own interpretation versus 150 other people involved with the film's interpretation of the same intellectual property."
