Analyst: New Gears and God of War titles underperforming
First month sales of Gears of War: Judgment and God of War: Ascension are lower than expected, according to Cowen and Company analyst Doug Creutz.
The two games launched last month and apparently they both sold far less than their predecessors in North America.
"We estimate Microsoft's Gears of War: Judgment sold just 425K units, vs. first month sales of over 2M for Gears of War 3 in September 2011, and we estimate Sony's God of War: Ascension sold just 360K units vs. first month sales of over 1.1M for God of War 3 in March 2010," said Creutz.
"Both titles received fairly mediocre reviews."
Last month Square Enix revealed that Tomb Raider was also performing well below expectations, despite shifting millions of copies worldwide.
