The Wii U will get plenty of games later this year, according to Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime.

Nintendo's newest console has struggled to convince consumers to put their money on the table, mainly due to a lack of games.

However Fils-Aime is confident that this will soon change and new Wii U titles will be announced soon.

"What I would say about Wii U - and what Mr. Iwata has said - is that the pace of launches has been slower than we hoped," he told GamesIndustry.

"But as we prepare for E3, the pace of launches for Wii U is going to dramatically increase."

Yesterday Nintendo confirmed that a Wii U system update would be coming next week, improving load times and updating several other features.
