Nintendo misses income target, Wii U sells 3.45million units
Nintendo has posted its second successive annual loss as net income for the year ended 31 March was half of what the company predicted.
Nintendo had expected to hit a target of £920.3million GBP but only generated £420.8million GBP, with the results being blamed on weak sales for the Wii U and 3DS.
The Wii U itself only managed to shift 3.45million units worldwide, with just 300,000 being sold in the last quarter.
The 3DS still managed to record some decent figures as sales of the handheld reached 13.95million units for the period.
Meanwhile the DS is still continuing to sell with figures of 2.35million units shifted.
Overall Nintendo made a loss of £284million GBP for the period, but expects Wii U sales to improve thanks to an improved lineup of games coming to the console.
