EA extends FIFA license to 2022

EA Sports has announced a deal which will see the publisher continue to bring out FIFA-branded games until 2022.

The agreement is an extension of the current deal which began in 1993, with FIFA games becoming more popular every year.

"Our franchise has become the benchmark for quality and innovation in the sports videogame genre, and we look forward to many more years of connecting with consumers around the world with our games carrying the prestigious FIFA name," said EA Sports boss Andrew Wilson.

EA recently announced that FIFA 13 had sold 14.5million copies since March.
