Wii U missing out on 15 EA games powered by Frostbite 3

The Wii U's problems look set to continue as it was revealed that EA's Frostbite 3 engine, which is currently powering 15 games, won't run on the console.

Massive titles like Battlefield 4, Mass Effect 4 and unannounced Star Wars games are being built using the new Frostbite 3.

However DICE technical director Johan Andersson said the engine has never been running on the Wii U.

"FB3 has never been running on Wii U," he said on Twitter. "We did some tests with not too promising results with FB2 and chose not to go down that path."

It's yet another blow for the Wii U, while earlier this week Avalanche Studios claimed there was no point making games for the console because not enough people owned one.
