Microsoft Analyst: Subsidised Xbox plans scrapped
Microsoft has scrapped plans to subsidise the next Xbox with subscription payments, according to Windows blogger Paul Thurrott.
It won't be long until Microsoft finally lifts the lid on its upcoming console, but Thurrott is claiming to have heard early details already.
This includes the scrapping of a subsidised Xbox model, and that tomorrow's event will feature the Illumiroom technology.
"A couple of Xbox news and tidbits ahead of the launch..." Thurrott wrote on Twitter.
"Illumiroom will be part of Tues event, subsidised Xbox v.Next model has been scrapped."
If true this could mean the next Xbox has a lower launch price, although we're not likely to hear anything concrete until E3 next month.
Earlier today we wrote out our wish list of things to see at the Xbox reveal tomorrow.
