Use your iPhone as a desktop joypad

An app that allows you to control games on your PC or Mac using your iPhone has been released.

Joypad Legacy is a (currently) free app which lets you use your iPhone as a sort of touchscreen joypad.

Judging by the Getting Started video, it's simple enough to get it all hooked up to your desktop machine, and there are a number of preset joypad configurations in addition to full customisation options, in case you want to play something that isn't supported by default.

I suspect you'd have a bit of trouble playing something like Assassin's Creed: Revelations with this, but I can't imagine you'd have much issue with anything that doesn't make hefty use of analogue controls. Handy to have if you don't have a PC/Mac compatible joypad around, certainly.

You can grab Joypad Legacy for free from the App Store, while the linking program for your PC or Mac can be nabbed at the official Joypad Legacy website. Considering the lack of a price, this has to be worth a look - even if only for the "ooh, that's kinda cool" factor.
