Deep Silver happy with Metro: Last Light success

Metro: Last Light enjoyed a successful first week of sales, according to publisher Deep Silver.

Exact figures weren't mentioned, but the first-person shooter significantly outsold predecessor Metro 2033 over the same launch period.

This includes Last Light tripling the worldwide sales of Metro 2033 over the same first-week period on PC.

While in the US, more boxed units of the shooter were sold in the first week than Metro 2033 managed in its lifetime.

"Metro: Last Light is Deep Silver's most critically acclaimed game to date," said Deep Silver's Menno van der Bil.

"We are delighted with the deserved critical and commercial success the game has achieved, and hope that this success represents a statement of intent for future quality titles from Deep Silver."

Metro: Last Light will also be supported with single player DLC over the next few months.
