PES 2014 officially announced
Konami has finally lifted the lid on Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, which "represents a quantum leap" for the series.
The football title has been confirmed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and PSP, however Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita and Wii U versions weren't mentioned.
This year's iteration is built using the new Fox Engine, the same one that is being used for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.
It won't just improve graphics either, as Konami is promising greater ball control mechanics and a new motion system that replicates FIFA's Player Impact Engine.
"Thinking outside the box on an annual series such as PES is not easy, but the Fox Engine has allowed us to develop such a level of freedom that we are constantly realising ways of making PES 2014 a true representation of football," claimed creative producer Kei Masuda.
"From the moment football fans pick up the controller and experiment with the close control, player movement and get to know how teams work and move, we are confident that they will see a game no longer limited by technology, but capable of growing with them and constantly surprising with the breath-taking quality they have come to expect from the real thing."
A release date for PES 2014 has not yet been given, but expect it sometime around September.
