Microsoft boss in Hollywood to talk Xbox One content

Microsoft boss Steve Ballmer is reportedly meeting with several Hollywood executives with a view to creating exclusive content for Xbox One.

Deadline Hollywood is claiming that Ballmer was joined by Microsoft's Nancy Tellem, who was on stage during the Xbox One reveal last month.

The pair of them met with CBS boss Les Moonves, Sony TV's Steve Mosko and executives of talent company WME, and gave an "intimate preview" of what Xbox One is capable of.

This is yet more evidence that Xbox One is being pushed as an entertainment console, not just a gaming machine.

During the Xbox One reveal, a Steven Spielberg directed Halo TV series was announced. New game Quantum Break will also have a TV show exclusively for the console.

While Microsoft has been keen to promote the TV capabilities of Xbox One, it insists that next week's E3 event will provide a much bigger focus on games.
