New Mirror's Edge "very different" to original
EA has claimed that the new Mirror's Edge game will offer a "very different" experience to the original.
A new game in the series was announced during EA's E3 press conference earlier this week, and it'll tell the origin story of Faith.
According to EA Games Label boss Patrick Söderlund, the new Mirror's Edge will keep the good things from the original while exploring new elements.
"I can tell you one thing. It's a very different Mirror's Edge experience than the first game," he told Eurogamer.
"Obviously as you saw in the trailer there are some things that will clearly remain the same. We're not going to break what the game was good at. But in general, though, there are some changes, which are for the better I think."
Söderlund added that players will get to see how powerful Faith is, as she shows a stronger side to her character.
"The first game was a lot about running away from things.
"And, even though you want to have sections with that, you also want Faith... she's a powerful character and you want her to take control.
"You'll see a little bit more of that in this game."
EA executive Frank Gibeau called the new Mirror's Edge an "open-world action adventure game".
Don't expect to see it until late 2014 though, as Mirror's Edge is still in early development for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
