Next-gen Metal Gear Solid 5 to look even better

Next-generation versions of Metal Gear Solid 5 will look even better than what was showcased at E3 this week, according to series creator Hideo Kojima.

A stunning gameplay trailer opened Microsoft's Xbox One conference on Monday, which managed to impress fans and critics alike.

Kojima believes that next-gen Metal Gear Solid 5 will be even more impressive visually, as they are just trying to figure out the new technology.

"For this project we were using the PC to build the Fox Engine to create our game," he told Polygon. "We're using the current-generation as a [guideline].

"While we were developing on current-gen, next-gen came along. We're really trying to reach the peak of the current generation right now - 360, PS3 - and then see how much we can take it up for the next-generation."

Kojima also said that Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game will aim for 60 frames-per-second gameplay and higher resolution.

"Once we start going into development for next-generation we're definitely looking for something better than [what] we have shown today," he added.
