ZombiU didn't make a profit, sequel ruled out
Ubisoft has said there are no plans to make a ZombiU sequel after the original game sold poorly on Wii U.
ZombiU was one of the flagship launch titles for Nintendo's newest console, making use of the GamePad functionality so that players could use it to look at a mini-map or their inventory.
However despite being "one of the most popular launch titles on the system", the game still didn't sell well enough to justify a sequel.
"We must find a way to ensure the creativity of those games could have a big enough audience," Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemott told GamesIndustry.
"We hope [Wii U] will take off. At the moment, we've said 'let's do through Christmas and see where we are from there.'"
The poor performance of ZombiU was also one of the factors which led to Rayman Legends turning from a Wii U exclusive into a multi-platform title.
Official sales figures have yet to be released.
