The Xbox Live store update that converts Microsoft Points to real-world money ends up raising the prices of games, according beta testers.

Those testing out the new store update found that games previously worth 1200 Microsoft Points (around £10.20 GBP) are now priced at £11.99 GBP.

Beta testers aren't warned that the prices of games have changed either, and only find out after the transaction has been made.

According to reports the conversions work out like this:

  • 1600 MSP games are now £14.99 GBP (previously £13.60 GBP)
  • 1200 MSP games are now £11.99 GBP (previously £10.20 GBP)
  • 800 MSP games are now £8.99 GBP, (previously £6.80 GBP)
  • 400 MSP games are now £4.49 GBP, (previously £3.20 GBP)

At the moment the store is in beta so prices are subject to change.
