Xbox One being pitched to small businesses
Microsoft is hoping to entice small businesses into using the Xbox One.
The platform-holder wrote an open letter to owners of small businesses explaining the benefits that the Xbox One could bring to their companies.
Microsoft's director of Consumer Camp, Marques Lyons, said that features such as Skype and SkyDrive could prove very helpful.
"What is being positioned as an excellent entertainment device can be just as enticing for you and your small business," he wrote.
"In fact, it's entirely justifiable to make the Xbox One a business expense. The Xbox One, priced at $499 USD, is an affordable option for small business owners, as there are many features built into the console that could help it rival even the most modest of video conferencing and networking platforms."
As well as Skype and the cloud-storing SkyDrive, Lyons said that SmartGlass and Internet Explorer are two features that could also be beneficial.
Microsoft has long been positioning the Xbox One as more than just a games console, with a huge focus on its TV capabilities.
This latest letter is more proof that Microsoft is aiming the Xbox One at a wider audience than just gamers.
